Designed and developed by Pomp Productions, the Good Hair Day microsite featured a three-part web video series with Jennifer Aniston. Visitors were invited to upload and submit their hair obsessions and confessions to be entered to win the Ultimate Good Hair Day: meeting Jen and getting a VIP haircut with celebrity stylist Chris McMillan.
The promotion and was part of an overall strategy conceived and executed by Protagonist to announce Jennifer Aniston’s partnership with Living Proof. The campaign created tremendous brand awareness and the microsite helped generate over 200,000 video views within two weeks.
Functionality included Facebook API integration for sharing and video and photo uploads, a custom video player with YouTube API integration, web series email subscriptions with episode reminders and a proprietary CMS to manage, annotate and sequence contest entries and microsite content. Hosting included Amazon EC2 web servers for the microsite and video processing, an Amazon RDS database and Amazon S3 with Cloudfront for storage and content distribution.
